New Makeover Company Offers Straight Advice from Gay Men
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 21, 2003 –- Queer dazzle for straight frazzle is now available for anyone through a new San Francisco company offering fashion makeover advice. Guerilla Makeovers opened its doors this week, offering head-to-toe advice from a collection of San Francisco's most colorful characters.
Similar to the hit tv show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” the new company offers help to the terminally drab, delivers salvation for the frumpy, and aims to eradicate the unibrow (connected eyebrows) from the face of the earth. Founded by Token Straight Guy Jon Peahl, Guerilla Makeovers takes clients on a three to five hour shopping trip which could result in a new wardrobe, fresh haircut, or spa treatment. The cast is fabulous, we have actors, models, designers, and musicians” Peahl says, All have been selected for their unique fashion sense and their ability to entertain. We want all clients to feel like they're on TV. We want them to hear the runway music playing in their heads as they parade through the stores.”
Clients are accompanied by three or more cast members who continually offer advice and suggestions. After an initial consultation over a cup of coffee, venues are chosen based on the customer's style. In addition to a new look, each customer gets a before and after picture and a notebook detailing all the cast's hints, secrets, and ideas. The notebook contains anything from matching color schemes to posture hints, even recommended restaurants to take dates. There's no script, no rules, so the makeover could involve anything—we'll even make over pets” according to Cast Member John Wayne.
This is ideal for people wanting to freshen up their appearance” says Peahl, we've had clients preparing for important business meetings, the newly single, and birthday surprises. The goal is to give them some confidence, even if it's just on a superficial level. Our clients run the spectrum, it's not just straight men who can benefit from a sharp eye and a sharper wit.”
No matter how dire the straight, there's someone who can help. Guerilla Makeovers offers fashion assistance 7 days a week. For additional information and reservations, contact Jon Peahl at 1-866-293-7895.
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” is property of Scout Productions and airs on the Bravo and NBC tv networks. Guerilla Makeovers is in no way affiliated with the tv show or these companies and no connection between these organizations is implied.
