Aruba Selects SeaSecure to Perform Port Security Assessments and Security Plans

The Port Authority for the Caribbean nation of Aruba announced that it has selected SeaSecure LLC, a global leader in maritime security and counter-terrorism consulting, to perform port vulnerability assessments and write security plans for their strategic ports.

FT. LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA (PRWEB) January 23, 2004 -- The Port Authority for the Caribbean nation of Aruba announced that it has selected SeaSecure LLC, a global leader in maritime security and counter-terrorism consulting, to perform port vulnerability assessments and write security plans for their strategic port facilities.

In a statement from Aruba, Milton Henriquez, Managing Director of the Aruba Ports Authority, said, SeaSecure is a world-renowned provider of port and maritime security services. With their reputation of first-class attention to client needs, coupled with unmatched experience and expertise, it was easy for Aruba to select SeaSecure as our partner in this critical national project."

SeaSecure, a United States company, is very active internationally and in the Caribbean Basin, with maritime security assessments and plans being developed for ports in Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, Honduras, the US Virgin Islands, and elsewhere. SeaSecure is honored to have been chosen by the Aruba Port Authority to assist with their national port security program," said Kim Petersen, SeaSecures President. All of us are excited to be working with government and industry officials there as we complete the assessment and plans process mandated by the IMO's International Ship and Port Facility Security Code."

Seaport vulnerability assessments and security plans are now required due to the passage of the International Port Facility and Security Code. The ISPS Code was adopted by the UNs International Maritime Organization (IMO) to address maritime security at all international ports and the security of ships engaged in international commerce. The ISPS Code has set strict standards for port and ship operators that must be achieved by 1 July 2004.
