The Cabaret Theatre to present Sir Alan Ayckbourn's "Absurd Person Singular"

The Cabaret Theatre will be presenting Sir Alan Ayckbourn's "Absurd Person Singular" Feb 4-14 with performances Wed-Sat at 8PM. This production is directed by Matt Ferguson and stars Justin Restivo, Amanda Lundberg, Matthew Campbell, Dara Lipshutz, Greg O'Reilly and Karen Schultz.

New Brunswick, NJ (PRWEB) January 22, 2004 --A series of dinner disasters, maddening mishaps, and social catastrophes replace the usual carolers, candy canes, and cheery family gatherings associated with Christmastime in Sir Alan Ayckbourn's Absurd Person Singular. In this wacky British Comedy, we meet three couples meet on three successive Christmas Eves to struggle amongst themselves to save face and their places on the social ladder.

First, we find ourselves in the kitchen of Jane and Sidney Hopcroft (Justin Restivo and Amanda Lundberg), a couple that is overly eager to impress Sidney's superiors. Jane and Sidney bussle around trying to perfect their household- but even days of careful planning could not anticipate the disasters that lie ahead....

The following year, womanizer Geoffrey Jackson (Matthew Campbell) finds himself dealing with a disaster of his own in his untidy kitchen involving his wife (Dara Lipshutz), a large opinionated dog and high voltage electricity.

Finally, the topnotch upper-class couple, Ronald and Marion (Greg O'Reilly and Karen Schultz), host a Christmas party of their own. One of our friendly characters struggles with an alcohol addiction and all the guests find themselves out in the cold.

By the end, the social ladder has completely shifted and it's a complete surprise as to who comes out on top.

All tickets are $5 for students and $10 for non-students, and reservations can be made on our website or by calling our box office at the phone number listed.

The Cabaret Theatre is located on the corner of Nichol Ave and Suydam St. and Nichol Ave. in New Brunswick, New Jersey on the Douglas Campus of Rutgers University.
