The Oxford Princeton Programme Derivatives and Risk Management Faculty Member Signs Book Deal with John Wiley & Sons; New book is first ever to link mechanical trading systems with trader psychology
PRINCETON, NJ (PRWEB) January 26, 2004 --The Oxford Princeton Programme, the worlds leading provider of training solutions to the energy, commodity and derivatives markets, announced that $900 million publishing company John Wiley & Sons will publish trading expert and faculty member Richard Weissman's book titled Developing Mechanical Trading Systems: Pairing Trader Psychology with Technical Analysis."
Looking at three distinct trader personality types (trend trader, mean-reversion and day trader), the book discusses how traders can transform negative, financially destructive trading habits, like fear and greed, by using system back-testing and development. The book has a tentative release date of November, 2004 and the financial terms of publication have not been disclosed.
John Wiley & Sons, founded in 1807, publishes about 85 percent of all trading books globally. Wiley publishes high profile brands including For Dummies, Webster's New World and CliffsNotes. They also created an alliance with more than 60 publishers worldwide to form CrossRef, an online journal reference linking service that is revolutionizing the research process.
Until recently, the human element hadnt been a part of the equation in looking at how trading decisions were made," explains Weissman. In the past, the industry looked upon the standard economic theory to explain these behaviors."
Weissman, a sixteen-year veteran as a trader and developer of trading systems, joined The Oxford Princeton Programme in August 2001. He served as president of R. Lloyd Associates Ltd. where he focused on the development and implementation of mechanical trading systems that were applicable to all trading vehicles. In the early 1990s, Weissman acted as senior trading broker specializing in foreign exchange futures for Opportunities In Options. In the late 1990s he served as manager of consulting services for FutureSource Bridge where his responsibilities included training clients on Athena Expert software, which enables development and backtesting of mechanical trading systems. Weissman has trained industry professionals for 13 years at companies as diverse as Thomson Financial Services, Telerate Energy and FutureSource Bridge.
Weissman has written several articles on technical analysis and mechanical trading system development for various industry publications. In addition, he has lectured at industry conferences and is recognized globally by industry leaders and the financial media as a leading authority in the field.
