Intelliun Announces Free Internet-Based Training for Executable UML

With the Launch of VE 4.0, the First Comprehensive Platform for Executable UML and Model-Driven Development, Intelliun Invites the Development Community to Experience a New Paradigm for Building Applications at an Unprecedented Productivity Gain

Plano, TX, (PRWEB) January 22, 2004 --Intelliun Corporation, the leading innovator in simplifying J2EE development, announced today the scheduling of a free 6-day Internet-based training class. The class will start on Wednesday February 4, 2004 and will cover the development of a complete web based application using VE and model-driven development.

The class will consist of six 1-day iterations. Each morning (10:00 am CST), the functionality of the iteration will be posted to all participants along with step-by-step instructions. The trainees will independently study the instructions and implement the functionality. A special training discussion board will be used for posting questions, communicating answers and exploring various alternatives. The goal is to limit each iteration to one hour of implementation, yet provide online support to trainees that would like to get more insight into model-driven development.

The training application is an attorney-client collaboration site, where law firms can manage their offices, attorneys, specialties, and client information. Each time a client engages an attorney, a case file is created and made available over the Internet to conduct discussions, manage to-do's and activities, maintain related files and documents, and establish a case calendar. The finished application will be added to the list of examples shipped with VE 4.0, and the detailed instructions will be compiled into an online tutorial.

"We picked a real life application with a familiar domain to keep the focus of the training on applying VE in model-driven development," said Iyad Jabri, Founder and CEO of Intelliun Corporation. "Our goal is to engage users with different backgrounds like VisualBasic, database administration, Java and J2EE, 4GL, and application architecture and walk them through a new--and to some extent controversial, approach for building applications very rapidly and without sacrificing sound software engineering principles."

Visit http://www.intelliun.com/developers to register for the online training class. The training material will be made available online on January 26, 2004, two days before the beginning of the class, and will include a more detailed scope and iteration plan. The training timetable and format is designed to offer maximum schedule flexibility while maintaining necessary structure.
