A January 2004 article in New Scientist magazine entitled Facial Modelling Software Finds the Kindest Cut," featured the use of Digital Elites technologies to help plastic surgeons develop incision strategies to avoid disfigurement from surgery on sensitive areas of the face. The featured technique combines Digital Elites 3-D facial modeling capabilities with patient-specific data obtained by physicians through standard pre-operative MRI scans of the patients face.
