(PRWEB) January 23, 2004 --The small town of St. Mary's, Georgia is hosting a convention Feb 12-15 attracting stampers from across the nation. This year the convention is expected to draw record crowds.
This is the 2nd annual Rubberstamp Art and Accessory Convention, "The Creative Palette, 2004", hosted by Old Town Crafts. Last year an estimated 1500 participants visited St. Mary's and stayed for days!
"Because of the artist's colony environment of St. Mary's, rather than fill an auditorium with people and noise - we have arranged with the local merchants to have classes and vendor booths inside the unique shops of the historic district. That's why there is no admission fee", says Paula Amari, owner of Old Town Crafts. Once again, instructors, artists, artisans, and vendors from across the country have been invited to participate in St. Mary 's Stamp Convention. There are 90 delectable classes offered to stir up those creative juices! From altered books, make floral polymer clay beads or faux ivory jewelry. Instructors include well known names such as Beth Cote, Fred Mullett, Susan Pickering Rothamel, Sandi Obertin, Suze Weinberg, Roberta Altshuler, Kathy Martin, Zana Clark, Lish Ohmer, Chris Burdett , many who have appeared on HGTV's The Carol Duval show.
Classes are filling up fast. To register, call (912)882-9000.
"The convention just gets bigger and better, it's word of mouth. Stampers love the creative atmosphere here", says Carole DeGuire, co-creater of The Creative Palette Convention.
Participants can experience St. Mary's in a walking tour. The Cumberland Tram will be running full time, as well as a horse drawn carriage and various vans, carrying conventioneers throughout the historic district.
Old Town Crafts is a full service rubber stamp art store in St. Marys. The store is located on the Florida/Georgia border, off I-95 and is open every day 10-5.
