Carlisle Custom Compact moves to Harrisburg: New indoor location features hottest cars on the East Coast, May 15-16

The Carlisle Custom Compact at Harrisburg car show takes off May 15-16 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. The event, previously held in Carlisle, will feature sport compacts from stock to radically modified and includes a professionally judged show field.

Harrisburg, PA (PRWEB) January 24, 2004 --The Carlisle Custom Compact at Harrisburg event takes off May 15-16 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. The event, previously held in Carlisle, will feature sport compacts from stock to radically modified and includes a professionally judged show field.

The newly renovated and expanded Farm Show Complex, located off the Cameron Street exit of I-81, houses 26 acres under one roof and has 60 acres of convenient parking available outside. The entire one-million square feet will be available for the event, which will include thousands of show cars, accessories and parts for sale, and activities for guests of all ages.

The indoor Elite Judged Competition is presented by the National Custom Car Association. NCCA will judge this new competition featuring premier competitors from throughout the nation. Classes and entry fees will be determined shortly, and registration will be available on the NCCA Web site, which can be accessed from www.customcompact.com. This competition is limited to 200 vehicles that will be hand-selected for competition based on the vehicles qualifications.

The Sports Car Club of America rally cross team will entertain inside the large Farm Show Arena. See top SCCA drivers race the clock through dirt jumps and slides inside the arena all day on Saturday.

Other attractions include indoor and outdoor show fields including judged competition with classes to be determined. Registration will be available on Carlisle Events Web site, www.customcompact.com. Anyone wishing to compete or participate in the indoor show field must pre-register. Details about indoor display regulations can be found at Carlisle Events Web site once registration begins.

Carlisle Events will also bring back the sound competition, neon glow-off and the bikini contest, and more activities are being scheduled regularly. The Carlisle staff is currently working with organizations to bring a professional drifting event to a nearby location, but there are no confirmations at this time.

Carlisle Events is conducting a search for models to work at the event. Photo and bio submissions can be made to Andrew Kronenberg at andrewk@carsatcarlisle.com or sent to his attention in care of Carlisle Events, 1000 Bryn Mawr Road, Carlisle, Pa. 17013-1588. Submissions must be received by March 1 for consideration. Carlisle Events is also looking for up-and-coming DJs who would be interested in spinning tunes at the show. Please note that no alcohol will be served or permitted indoors or outdoors at the Farm Show Complex during this event. Vehicles will be searched for alcohol.

The 2004 Carlisle Custom Compact at Harrisburg takes place May 15-16, with hours of 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $15 each day.
