Italian Immersion in Tuscany
Penobscot School in Rockland, Maine and Spannochia Foundation are offering an Italian language immersion in Tuscany. The immersion is geared towards beginners and advacned beginners. Participants will stay at the Spannocchia estate which is located 12 miles from Siena.
(PRWEB) January 24, 2004 --In collaboration with the Spannocchia Foundation, the Penobscot School in Rockland, Maine is sponsoring an Italian language immersion and cultural exploration during the period. June 3, 2004 through June 10, 2004. It will be conducted at the Spannocchia estate in Tuscany, Italy. The Castello di Spannocchia is the central complex of a multi-faceted organic farm located 12 miles from Siena, Italy. The main villa at the Castello, a 16th Century addition to the original medieval
castle tower, sits on a high hill with a magnificent view of the rolling Tuscan countryside.
Participants in the Immersion program will participate in conversation-driven Italian language instruction. Classes will be fun, interactive, and will focus on learning and improving everyday usage of the Italian language, and exploring Tuscan history and culture. Personal and cultural interests of group participants will be incorporated into group discussion. The instructional content is geared to a beginner or advanced-beginner level. Participants will have ample free time to explore the surrounding area, hike, read, study or just relax and take in the tranquil beauty of the Tuscan landscape.

The Spannocchia Foundation of Portland supports the non-profit activities of Spannocchia by raising money, supporting internships and educational programs and sponsoring conservation research. Penobscot School (www.languagelearning.org), a non-profit center for language learning and international exchange, is working with the Foundation to bring this educational and cultural learning opportunity to area residents.
