Network Defence Proves Intranets Are Not Just for Large Companies.
SME gains greater visibility of future revenue by using an Intranet
Manchester (PRWEB) January 27, 2004 --Network Defence have gained greater visibility of income forecasting by using an Intranet. The Intranet, used by 30 staff in 2 locations, is shattering the misconception that Intranets deliver benefits to just large corporates.
'The Intranet is the operational core of our business. There is not much we do that doesnt involve the Intranet states Sue Beesley, Director of Network Defence.
The Intranet, essentially a secure website which can only be accessed by Network Defences staff, is exceeding their initial expectations and has become an essential part of their day to day operations.
'We are now able to forecast customer contract renewals up to a year in advance, by assigning support contracts, products and services to them states Beesley. 'This management information is extremely important for revenue forecasts and setting budgets she continues.
Central to the Intranets success is the Customer Information section, which allows Account Managers to add details of each customers support contracts, products and services supplied, Network Defences Management team can then collate these details in a report to generate a revenue forecast for the coming year. This is in addition to the benefits which an Intranet is widely perceived to deliver, such as improved communication through information sharing.
The Intranet was delivered by Odyssey Interactive, using the Interact Intranet Suite (http://www.interact-intranet.co.uk). 'We are increasingly being approached by a number of smaller companies, with 20 to 50 users, who are realising that Intranets deliver tangible cost savings to their business comments Nigel Danson, Director of Odyssey Interactive. 'They have the same desire as large corporates to cut the cost of paper processes by putting them online, on an Intranet he continues.
Network Defence were impressed by Interact as it offered a versatile solution which could be easily be adapted to their needs. Of particular appeal was that Interact offered measurable efficiencies for a number of business processes, such as Customer Relationship Management, Supplier Management and Helpdesk to Network Defence. It runs on a Windows 2000 environment and is accessed using a standard web browser, making it available anywhere at any time to Network Defence staff.
