Some of the best poker players in the nation are scheduled to be in Reno Feb. 20 through Feb. 28 to match wits and strategies in the Peppermill Reno Hotel Casinos prestigious big Winter Poker Tournament with $250,000 prize pot.

(PRWEB) January 26, 2004 --A field of 1,200 players is expected to take part in the eight days of heated poker action that will include Texas Holdem and Omaha Hi-Low Split. Each day will feature an early morning satellite event, then a different tournament game followed by an evening second chance tournament each with a $120 buy-in and no re-buys.

Satellite tournaments are held daily starting at 8 a.m., daily tournament action gets underway at noon and the second chance games start at 7 p.m.

The action begins with a warm up Satellite Day game with a $60 buy-in followed by the first of the second chanced games each evening.

The serious competition then begins on Feb. 21 with a $120 buy-in and $100 re-buy limit holdem game.

• Feb. 26 -- Limit holdem, $120 buy-in $100 re-buy
• Feb. 27 -- No limit holdem $120 buy-in, unlimited re-buys for first four rounds add-on at the end of the 4th round. First place guaranteed $10,000
• Feb. 28 -- Championship Event, no limit holdem $225 buy-in, $200 re-buy
