Dawson's Creek Meets Backyard Wrestling in John Blair's first novel, FISSURE ROCK

Sixteen-year-old Jim is the new kid in town, who becomes obsessed with beautiful classmate Cynthia. Soon she leads an unknowing Jim into an extreme sport which holds in store for him many life-changing consequences.

TORONTO, CANADA (PRWEB) January 26, 2004 -- FISSURE ROCK book launch, Friday, January 30, 2004, at Toronto's Renaissance Cafe, 1938 Danforth Avenue (2 blocks west of Woodbine Station), beginning at 7:30 PM, and featuring the band Saveface ($2.00 cover charge).

Leaving the city smog behind them, the Bridgeman family moves to the picturesque tourist town of Fissure Rock, where 16-year-old Jim becomes infatuated with his beautiful intelligent classmate Cynthia. But all is not as idyllic as it seems. First Jim notices cracks in his family relationships. Trying to become 'one of the gang,' he joins the local backyard wrestling federation. More cracks emerge in Jim's life while he seeks the truth behind Cynthia's secret videos, a sinister internet stalker, and his own past. Through a tangled web of deception and violence, Jim's travels finally offer him some important life lessons. This book contains many unexpected twists and turns, tied in with timely tongue-in-cheek comic relief.
