New service makes it easy and affordable to detect network and website failures early, minimizing downtime and avoiding economic impact.

Paessler today announced the immediate availability of IPCheck Server Monitor 4. The Windows-based software and multi platform Application Service Provider (ASP) service make it easy and affordable to detect network and website failures early, minimizing downtime and avoiding economic impact. Businesses increasingly rely on their networks to move data, provide communication and enable basic operations. As networks and computer technology become more integrated with business, system outages can seriously impact the bottom line. IPCheck Server Monitor 4 helps organizations monitor critical network resources and immediately detect system failures or performance problems.

IPCheck Server Monitor 4 is the only solution that combines a monitoring ASP service and an installable software package. As an ASP service, smaller businesses have the ability to outsource their servers and website monitoring to Paessler’s expert network technicians. The company is notified via email, pager/SMS or ICQ as soon as outages occur and Paessler manages all system maintenance and software updates.

“By offering IPCheck Server Monitor as installable software and as ASP service we give users the ability to monitor business critical systems from two perspectives: from their own LAN and from our servers. Think of it as a ‘second opinion’ about the health of your network,” said Dirk Paessler CEO of Paessler GmbH. “To make getting started as easy as possible we are offering free options for both the software and the ASP service. And both options are also easy to set up and easy to use – like all our products that bring high-end product functionality to average users.”

The latest version of IPCheck Server Monitor provides features for SOHOs and Fortune 500 companies. IPCheck Server Monitor 4 has a new multi user feature that enables enterprise IT teams to install IPCheck Server Monitor on one machine and provide other departments with access to monitoring data by individual logins.

Both the ASP and installable version feature a new browser-based interface that provides easy access to functionality from Intranet or Internet. Version 4 includes all the version 3 sensor types (PING, PORT, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SMTP, POP3, FTP) and includes several new sensor types, Advanced HTTP, HTTP Transaction, for even more detailed and reliable monitoring. The installable version also features new custom sensors, Custom VBScript and Custom EXE/DLL that can be extended for special tasks—a user can simply create his own sensor types using one of a variety of standard programming languages.

The IPCheck Server Monitor software is available for download at http://www.paessler.com/ipcheck in a freeware version that can monitor up to 3 basic sensors and may be used for free for personal and non commercial use. Free 30 days trial licenses to evaluate the complete functionality are available upon request from the Paessler Website. Full licenses are available starting at USD$99.

The IPCheck Server Monitor ASP service on http://www.ipcheck-server-monitor.com also offers free accounts that include free monitoring of up to 2 sensors. Full accounts for more detailed monitoring are available starting at USD$9.95 per month per server.
