Cyber donors pay to stop incinerator pollution

California website gives free websites to those who want to stop pollution.

(PRWEB) January 26, 2004 --California website gives free web sites to those who want to stop pollution. Why would a small website operator in California care about a incinerator in Canada? Owner Rod Deluhery says "I wanted to raise awareness of the incinerator issue, especially when I heard of this one that is being built in a tiny little town of Belledune that already has many waste problems. I thought that the company is building it there because no one will complain loud enough to stop it. I also thought there is a real problem of understanding the waste issue when it comes to incinerators, waste streams and recycling. I wanted to learn more about this and what other solutions there are to it. Incineration, it's basically a last ditch effort to move waste out of the system. The problem is that is does exactly that, the waste is not recycled and all the energy used to create the original product is lost. It's really not the direction we need, we need to focus more on having a recycle path for all the products we use and consume. Modern incinerators are a big improvement from older systems. But I don't believe that companies should run them for the lowest cost per ton. For profit companies should not be in this business as it's not regulated enough in my opinion."

The town already has a lead smelter, nearby coal mines, pulp and paper mill, and power plant. It's hard to imagine a town of only 3000 people having so much industry. And now they are going to let an incinerator be built. It's a shame.
