Youth Foundation Partners with Public Health Association for National Public Health Week
The Chauncey H. Robinson becomes a national partner with the American Public Health Association for National Public Health Week.
ATLANTA, GA (PRWEB) January 27, 2004 --Looking to reduce health disparities in inner city communities, the Chauncey H. Robinson Youth Foundation has partnered with the American Public Health Association (APHA) for National Public Health Week 2004. Through its health initiative Project TEACH (Together Educating Adolescents Concerning Health), the foundation will assist in providing Solutions to Eliminating Health Care Disparities" for the week of April 5-11, 2004.
National Public Health Week focuses on raising awareness of health disparities and highlighting community projects, interventions and solutions that are working to address this problem.
According to APHA the objectives of National Public Health Week are: (1) to raise awareness among the general population, policymakers and the media about the problem of health disparities and the impact of disparities on health status for all Americans and the economy in the U.S.; (2) to raise awareness among decision makers about programs that are working to bridge the disparities gap; (3) to help to connect communities and service providers with model programs that could be used to combat disparities in their communities by creating a disparities solutions database; (4) to broaden the reach and effectiveness of National Public Health Week; (5) to foster innovative and productive partnerships among a broad array of groups around the issue of health disparities.
Project TEACH is the health component of the Chauncey H. Robinson Youth Foundation. The primary objective of Project TEACH is to help inner city communities mobilize resources to support programs that eliminate the health disparities experienced by racial and ethnic minorities.
The Chauncey H. Robinson Youth Foundation is a philanthropic and program oriented organization whose mission is to fund and further the development of present programs that serve the community in the following areas: Health, Education, and Cultural needs of inner city communities. The foundation is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 c-3, non-profit organization.
