John R. Wood Realtors Reports $1 Billion for 2003 Sales

John R. Wood Realtors management team set a lofty goal for its residential sales associates in 2003. Coming off a record year of $834 million in sales in 2002, the company aimed to break the $1 Billion mark in 2003. And thats just what they did, according to Dottie Babcock, chief operating officer of the 46 year-old real estate firm headquartered in Naples.

NAPLES, FL (PRWEB) January 28, 2004 --John R. Wood Realtors management team set a lofty goal for its residential sales associates in 2003. Coming off a record year of $834 million in sales in 2002, the company aimed to break the $1 Billion mark in 2003.

And thats just what they did, according to Dottie Babcock, chief operating officer of the 46 year-old real estate firm headquartered in Naples.

We have a highly experienced and productive sales team and we wanted to challenge them to really stretch," she said. We knew it was possible given the high average production per agent, but given the market challenges going into the year, it would be an energizing challenge."

It wasnt an unrealistic goal, but we knew it would take maximum effort to achieve," said Jim Scartz, John R. Woods Bonita Springs Manager. There were lots of unknowns, like the economy and the war, so it was a very aggressive goal."

According to Babcock, sales from the $250,000 to $500,000 range were the strongest segment during 2003. There were also a substantial number of sales under $250,000. As the year progressed and consumer confidence returned, the company saw the higher end sales begin to rebound.

We are currently seeing a strong resurgence in the $2,000,000 - $5,000,000 and higher market," Babcock said.

The company doesnt intend to stop at the $1 billion milestone, either.

Our goal for 2004 is to increase sales by approximately 24 percent," said Babcock. The market is much more robust so far than last year and we are on target to meet, and possibly exceed, our January targets in all offices."

John R. Wood, Realtors is the oldest major real estate firm in the area. The company has three offices in Naples and Bonita Springs, with 200 Realtors and another 125 support staff. The firm specializes in the luxury residential markets and coastal communities located from Naples to Estero, as well as upscale golf course neighborhoods within the area.
