Dallas, TX - Nonprofit organization provides training workshops for female ex-offenders and domestic violence survivors.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) January 28, 2004 --The Haven Women's Outreach will host its Educate & Empower workshop series beginning March 6, 2004 at the Center for Community Cooperation located at 2900 Live Oak in Dallas. These workshops will focus on money management skills, professional development, highlighting resume writing and mock interview sessions, and personal development, which will focus on appearance and self-esteem. Technology training sessions will begin in summer 2004, dates to be announced.

Our goal for this series of workshops is two-fold", says Hazel Anthony, standing board member and volunteer Program Director. First, we hope to expand our services to all women who need additional training, and secondly, to provide an extension to other service agencies with a common goal." These workshops are unique in that they are instructed by some of Dallas most successful women entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and nonprofit leaders, all of who volunteer their time and expertise. Grants to support this workshop series were provided by the Dallas Womens Foundation, Citigroup Foundation, and Verizon Foundation. The workshops are opened to women who have made a commitment to improve their lives by educating themselves. Priority is given to women who are referred by services agencies in the metroplex.

The Haven Womens Outreach mission is to embrace, educate, and empower women who, through adverse circumstance, have been economically, emotionally, and socially displaced. The technology training, housing advocacy, community resources, and P.O.W.E.R. (People, Opportunities, Work, Education, and Resources) provide women an opportunity to elevate themselves to become their personal best.
