South Carolina poet Jayne Jaudon Ferrer will be one of 35 featured authors at the Fourth Annual Amelia "Book Island" Festival in Amelia Island, Florida.
(PRWEB) January 29, 2004 --South Carolina poet Jayne Jaudon Ferrer will be one of 35 featured authors at the Fourth Annual Amelia "Book Island" Festival in Amelia Island, Florida this fall. Ferrer, a Florida native who has resided in Greenville for the past nine years, will speak to middle-school students during pre-festival events and will participate in a variety of panels and presentations during the festival itself, to be held October 1-3.
"I'm honored to have been selected as a featured author," says Ferrer. "The'Book Island' event has quickly gained a reputation for being one of the most well-organized festivals in the country, and what could be more inviting than blending good books and a beautiful beach?"
Ferrer, dubbed the "Poet Laureate of Mothers" because her work frequently focuses on the bliss and bedlam of motherhood, is preparing for the March 1 release of her third book, Dancing with My Daughter: Poems of Love, Wisdom, and Dreams. Loyola Press is releasing the new collection along with updated editions of Ferrer's previous books, A Mother of Sons, and A New Mother's Prayers.
