(PRWEB) January 30, 2004 --WOMBBOOM! - The womens drumming ensemble who shake the floor with intoxicating, mesmerizing world rhythms and ethereal, primal, tartaric and soaring vocalizations.

We are women -- Our Drum, Our Voice, Our Heartbeat!
& this aint background music! We erupt. The floor starts to shake. You cant sit still any longer. The spirit dances & she takes your body & leads you to the floor. Her arms enfold you & she moves you to the dance. She is the drum...She is home... for every human"
After just last week, being the featured artists and bringing a full house in Kingston, Ont. to their feet at DRUM EXTRAVAGANZA, WombBOOM! will is officially launch their premier CD Walk Me To The Edge" on January 31 at 8pm at Innis Town Hall, inside Innis College ( U of T). WombBOOM will mesmerize, and stir up the primal knowingness in all who will hear this womens rhythm ensemble, bringing to world music and to their audiences what can only be described as visceral .

WombBOOM!, takes their listeners to the Africas, the Middle East, Cuba and rhythmic worlds in between. Original songs and arrangements by musical director Carole Anne Burris speak of boldly standing at the precipice of life and with trust and guts and courage, jumping in full force and letting go!

Carole Anne Burris is on keyboards and percussion. Christy Jeffersons honest vocals along with Cori Sandlers interpretation of the unguarded ballad, her liquid, somewhere between gut wrenching blues and soaring tartaric vocalizing leave you on the edge of your seat. Jessie Steinberg breaths life into her didgeridoo, taking audiences on a walk about to some mystical rhythmical land and this journey is grounded by the steady, body rocking, imaginative tight as all ... beat of the drum -- Deb Parent and Stacey Michener weave their jembes and jun juns throughout the performance.

When all women strap on their drum... this is what one listener said:
I have never seen the likes of you. Women who rock, who make me move, who soar, who tempt, who remind me that I am older than my years and have heard these rhythms many times in many lives. Thanks beyond words. ...Renee/Canada"
