ArticSoft automates file and email security: New Command Line Scriptor is a step forwards in the deployment of automated digital signature and encryption technology for the enterprise
Command Line Scriptor is a server based product that protects sensitive files without any user intervention. It provides scripting, email, FTP support and a simple to use GUI for creating command line parameters.
(PRWEB) January 30, 2004 --ArticSoft has announced its new Command Line Scriptor (CLS) utility for automatically securing files, folders, documents and emails. CLS incorporates automatic linking to e-mail, integration with FTP for automated upload and download, scheduling to allow tasks to be run at pre-defined times or frequencies and comprehensive audit logging. GUI interfaces remove the need to 'hand craft command line parameters so that any administrator is able to control and run CLS without the need for constant technical support.
Administrators can define which files and folders to encrypt, decrypt, digitally sign, verify or securely delete and when they want this to happen. They can also pre-set what happens to files once they have been processed; whether the are automatically emailed or FTPd to a web server, for example. Once parameters have been set up, CLS simply runs in the background with no need for further user intervention.
Steve Mathews, ArticSoft CEO commented, CLS has been designed to slot straight in to current workflow processes. Information that is sent either inside or outside of the enterprise can now be seamlessly protected with no user intervention using email or FTP. You do not face the costs of business re-engineering to achieve government level security and users dont have to worry about file and security management as it is all handled automatically."
Unlike many other command line products, CLS is quick to setup and automatically generates complex instructions behind the user interface, while more advanced users are still able access the command line to input parameters directly. Comprehensive logging facilities ensure you know what actions have occurred, what files were processed and when this occurred.
CLS is fully OpenPGP and PKI compliant ensuring complete integration with existing systems. Incoming OpenPGP files are automatically verified and decrypted. CLSs key manager will generate X.509 and OpenPGP certificates and keys or they can be imported from any Certificate Authority or OpenPGP product. ArticSofts unique Trusted Authorities system shields users from the complexities of importing root certificates for key verification and keys signed by all of the major Certificate Authorities are recognised automatically.
For emailing, CLS works with the default mail client and automatically determines to whom files are sent, using the email addresses contained in the public keys. At the receiving end ArticSofts FileAssurity OpenPGP, CLS, PGP or any OpenPGP compliant software can be used to decrypt secured files. Free reader software is also available from ArticSofts website.
ArticSofts Command Line Scriptor works on Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, and XP. A Unix / Linux version is expected in late February. It costs $3995 (perpetual license) or $1995 (subscription license). Both options include one year of free support. A free evaluation or full copy can be downloaded directly from the ArticSoft web site at www.articsoft.com
