Grassfire.org Invites Citizens to Sign Friend of the Court" Brief in Support of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Leading Internet-based activist organization hoping to rally 200,000 citizen signatures in support of keeping Under God" in the Pledge before the U.S. Supreme Court hearing on March 24, 2004.
MAXWELL, IA (PRWEB) January 31, 2004 --Grassfire.org one of the nations leading online grassroots citizen activist organizations, is inviting citizens who support the keeping Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance to sign their Friend of the Court Brief" that is being submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Through this groundbreaking effort, Grassfire hopes to rally at least 200,000 citizen signatures to become part of the permanent record of this watershed Pledge case.
Last year Grassfire filed a similar Amicus Brief with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, California--the court where this case originated. That brief contained the names of more than 50,000 citizens, and contained more than 700 pages. The court rejected Grassfires brief, along with those of several other conservative organizations.
Now, as the Supreme Court prepares to hear the case against the Pledge on March 24, 2004, Grassfire is hoping to send a final resonating message to the Justices through their historic Amicus Brief that America wants to protect and preserve the Pledge of Allegiance for generations to come.
Shortly after the ruling against the Pledge was handed down, Grassfire launched a national petition to Save the Pledge" that resulted in more than 540,000 citizens signatures from across the nation.
This has been our effort all along with the Pledge," says Steve Elliott, president of Grassfire.org. Through our petition, our letter writing campaign and now through our Amicus Brief, we are giving citizens a voice in this issue. We are giving them an opportunity to let the powers that be know that they wont stand for these kinds of attacks against our nation."
In just over three years, Grassfire.org has already become one of the most innovative and impactful online, conservative organizations in the country-rallying more than 1.5 million citizens on key conservative issues facing our nation today.
Each month, tens of thousands of citizens join our team or visit our website for the first time.
