Seventeen Year Old Musician Brian Larsen Awarded Gold Record for All-American Rejects' Debut

Brian Larsen, the lead singer for the Maryland-based rock band Twilight's Moon was awarded an RIAA certified gold record for his work on the All-American Rejects' Debut album. The award comes along with the gold certification of the Rejects' "Too Bad For Hell" DVD and the release of Larsen's seventh album, "Broken Windows."

(PRWEB) January 30, 2004 --In a remarkable twist of fate, Twilight's Moon's lead singer Brian Larsen was awarded an RIAA certified gold record for his work on The All-American Rejects' self-titled debut album, a band that, Larsen says, he was "extremely fortunate to work with." This award makes Larsen one of the 100 youngest Artists in the world ever to receive an RIAA gold plaque.

Brian Larsen, the enigmatic indie rock icon who is known primarily for his quirky fingerpicked pop-rock songs and for playing all instruments on his songs, was awarded the RIAA gold record that came immediately following the release of his seventh album, "Broken Windows." "It's incredible," Larsen stated. "It's like all of a sudden everything is starting to come together. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine that at the dawn of 2004 I would've released a new album and be honored with such an incredible award. I'm still speechless."

The award was custom-designed by an independent Record Industry Association of America licensee and features the artwork for the Rejects' album emblazoned across the front of the frame, and a gold record and CD in the center of the design. "Aesthetically, it's just so pleasing ... it really overwhelms the other awards and personalized autographs on my wall," Larsen adds with laughter.

The Rejects' album, first released in October 2002 on Doghouse Records, was slow to catch listeners attention, but caught fire with the re-release of the disc on Dreamworks Records in February 2003, and the subsequent release of the single "Swing, Swing," which became a Billboard Top-40 hit by March. Larsen's seventh album, "Broken Windows," was released December 23, 2003, to great critical acclaim, moved by the album's first single, "Steal Your Heart Away."

Larsen stated that he has plans to promote the disc for the first quarter of 2004, and will then begin work on a hard-rock EP to be released by early summer that will coincide with the release of the Rejects' sophomore effort, which is currently untitled. "I'm doing a very hard rock sound, something that is very different for me," Larsen mentioned. "My merging of so many genres is hopefully going to attract a lot of attention." There is no word yet as to whether or not All-American Rejects' singer Tyson Ritter and guitarist Nick Wheeler will play on the disc.
