MerchantSpace Strengthens European Presence With German Systems Integrator Partnership

MerchantSpace Commerce, the leading mid-market e-commerce solution for the J2EE platform is now in Germany. Through a long-term systems integration partnership, German companies now have a viable, open standards, Java e-commerce alternative.

(PRWEB) January 31, 2004 --MerchantSpace today announced that it has signed German systems integrator Ancud IT Beratung GmbH to meet the growing European demand for MerchantSpace Commerce, a mid-market J2EE e-commerce application.

"The interest in MerchantSpace Commerce from European based companies has been overwhelming. To better serve these companies we have carefully sought out qualified and experienced systems integrators familiar with J2EE/Java technology," said Mark Williams, Executive VP, Ekkon Technologies. "Today more than ever, mid-market companies must compete with organizations that have fully integrated systems. MerchantSpace Commerce was developed with the functional, fiscal, and competitive needs of these mid-market companies in mind."

This partnership allows Ancud to add an additional e-commerce offering to its technology stack, as MerchantSpace Commerce natively supports international languages.

"We had been searching for professional J2EE/Java e-commerce software with source code availability and moderate pricing for years," said Konstantin Böhm, CEO of Ancud. "Selling Intershop in the past, we like the conceptual maturity of the MerchantSpace Commerce solution. Thanks to the openness of the software we can adapt it easily to adhere to German e-commerce standards."

"The combination of professional Java technology, open standards, out of the box functionality, and pricing is unique, specifically in the European market," explained Dr. Stefan Dürr, Senior Software Developer at Ancud. "Our customers will benefit tremendously because of this new offering."
