(PRWEB) January 21, 2004 --This event is the grand finale of 22 self-esteem and performance workshops students from the community, along with other local artist.Connecting the Dots, fundraises and support our Beauty is Diversity Workshop series. Increases in the cost of education alongside the budget cuts in public education and other economic and political developments are creating a greater demand for high quality after school programs among low-income families in Rhode Island. Undemanding and effortless programs will not challenge the youth of todays MTV generation and age of immediate gratification.

A year ago CTD developed a resource for urban youth of Rhode Island, ages 14-19, helping students create and reach personal goals through motivating and appealing to modern arts and communication techniques. Once they are registered, they are introduced to entertaining and stimulating modeling classes along with exposure to other arts such as film, design and music to name a few. At the end of the training we showcase their skills and development in a well-organized runway fashion exhibit, together with segments of local talent. The more seriously each teen approaches their personal goals, the better prepared they will be to move toward career and educational goals. Thus, not only does CTD Beauty is Diversity Exhibition provides a medium to exhibit local talent, but it also increases the value of art, culture and networking as motivational tools to reach educational and career goals for urban youth.
