Retired Federal Tax Court Judge Joins Judicial ADR
Carolyn Miller Parr, appointed by President Reagan to a fifteen-year term on the U.S. Tax Court Bench, has joined Judicial ADR’s specialist mediator panel serving the San Francisco Bay Area. She focuses on tax, corporate, international, commercial, and bankruptcy matters.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 6, 2004 --Carolyn Miller Parr, appointed by President Reagan to a fifteen-year term on the U.S. Tax Court Bench, has joined Judicial ADR’s specialist mediator panel serving the San Francisco Bay Area. She focuses on tax, corporate, international, commercial, and bankruptcy matters.
Judge Parr has negotiated hundreds of settlements, both from the Bench and in private mediation practice. She has worked in international peacekeeping with the Carter Center of Atlanta, and received the Justice and Mercy award from the National Debate for Peace in El Salvador in 1995. She also chaired the Court’s ADR Committee.
Prior to her appointment to the Bench, she served as Special Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General, Tax Division, in the Department of Justice. In 1977, she joined the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service as a Trial Attorney, where by 1982 she had been named Senior Trial Attorney.
A Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel, Judge Parr is a member of the National Association of Women Judges, the International Association of Women Judges, the World Jurist Association, and the District of Columbia Bar. She is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Tax Court, and U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
