Disabled Alberta Woman Makes Year of the Goat Her Own

A young woman overcomes her disabilities when her husband becomes ill and starts her own business.

(PRWEB) January 1, 2004 --2003 was the year of the goat according to the Chinese calendar and a disabled Alberta woman took that to heart. When her husband found himself unable to work due to memory loss and speech difficulties Lalita Nault took the bull, or in this case the buck, by the horns and launched a line of natural body care products from her home in Mountain View County, Alberta. Goats milk is a key ingredient in her natural creams and lotions.

While this might not sound like a big step to many, keep in mind that just before her husband became sick Lalita was searching out alternatives for a long-term care home. Over the last few years post-polio disease has ravaged the few remaining strengths she had left after a childhood struggle with polio more than twenty years ago. At 30 years old moving into a long-term care facility was a tremendously difficult decision," says Lalita. In some ways my husband falling ill and needing to rely on me was a good thing. It was the motivation I needed to work harder for my independence."

Lalita test marketed her products at the Blackfoot Farmers Market over the summer and set up an on-line sales center in the fall. Marketing her Udder End line of products over the Internet allows her to work around the challenges of her disabilities though she misses the one on one with customers.

With many repeat customers, Lalita has started to expand her line of natural body care products to meet customer requests. She is looking forward to talking with customers about her new products in 2004 while she continues to fill orders coming in through her www.udderend.com website.

The year of the goat doesnt end until January 21st, but the 22nd ushers in the year of the monkey and Lalita is looking forward to monkeying around a little and taking advantage of her new found independence.
