Artiso Visual Case delivers an improved software design tool to a wider audience of developers, database designers and business analysts with a new release supporting PostgeSQL, Pervasive and Interbase.

Visual Case version 2.6 delivers a more powerful AMD (Application Modeling and Design) tool combining the UML modeling language, legacy diagrams and database design E/R tools with round trip database engineering and a sophisticated SQL Editor into one integrated package. Visual Case now supports PostgreSQL, Pervasive and Interbase databases and improves support for Microsoft SQL, Oracle, mySQL, Sybase and Access. Database connectivity is provided through JDBC as well as ODBC and direct connections to Access databases.

Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) January 2, 2004 --Programmers, analysts, systems architects and consultants will benefit from the release of Visual Case version 2.6. This powerful AMD (Application Modeling and Design) tool combines the UML modeling language, legacy diagrams and database design E/R tools with round trip database engineering and a sophisticated SQL Editor into one integrated package.

Visual Case now supports PostgreSQL, Pervasive and Interbase databases and improves support for Microsoft SQL, Oracle, mySQL, Sybase and Access. Database connectivity is provided through JDBC as well as ODBC and direct connections to Access databases.

Developed by Artiso Corp., Visual Case enables developers to implement practical systems meeting real business needs. The program provides several diagram types including:
·   UML (Unified Modeling Language) diagrams;
·   Entity Relationship Diagrams;
·   Flow Charts and
·   Data Flow Diagrams.

An innovative user interface simplifies the preparation of diagrams with auto-linking, alignment and spacing tools.

Diagram objects can be exploded into sub-diagrams and grouped into packages.

The round-trip database engineer keeps the physical databases synchronized with the design models. The Engineer converts between database types (e.g. reverse engineer a legacy database through an ODBC link and forward engineer to Oracle, SQL Server etc).

Dynamic Viewer lets the user explore complex diagrams and database structures without manually formatting a diagram.

Visual Case includes a context sensitive SQL editor, spell checker, reports and a web export allowing a complete project to be browsed as a web site.

Several enhancements were added including automatic maintenance of primary indexes on autonumber (identity) columns.

Visual Case operates on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and Solaris platforms.

The Visual Case Database Engineer currently supports Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Pervasive, Interbase and Microsoft Access and will reverse engineer most ODBC and JDBC data sources.

Visual Case is the most cost effective AMD tool at US$449. Volume discounts and academic pricing are available. A free 30 day fully-functional evaluation is available at www.visualcase.com.

Artiso Corporation was founded in 2000 to deliver cost effective, innovative, and practical tools to the development community.

Artiso Corp. is a privately help corporation.
