Guitarist Scott Whitney to be Featured on KPIX (CBS affiliate in San Francisco) for One Year

Evening Magazine's "Get Fit With Malou" Selects Whitney's "FatDad"; First Show Aired on October 8th, 2003

LOS GATOS, CA (PRWEB) January 2, 2004 --Selected from over 800 entries, Bay Area musician Scott Whitney is one of four people selected by KPIX producers to be featured on Evening Magazine's "Get Fit With Malou" segment, which began on October 8th, 2003.

Working in conjunction with 24-Hour Fitness, Evening Magazine's "Get Fit With Malou" segment will feature Whitney's progress as he attempts to loose up to 30 pounds in one year. Labeling himself "FatDad" in his initial online entry (a moniker that Malou Nubla has playfully used throughout the series), Scott has already lost over 15 pounds, attributed primarily to the fear of looking like a fool on network TV.

KPIX producers received over 800 submissions to the Get Fit With Malou contest. Of the 800, 75 were invited to a one-hour mixer that gave each invitee the chance to convince as many KPIX/24-Hour Fitness people as possible that they should be picked. (Scott's suggestion that using his stomach as a resting place for his TV remote was convenient, but less the graceful, was a big hit.) Of the 75, 20 were selected for one-on-one video-taped interviews with KPIX producers. Finally, four winners were selected.

Whitney has appeared four times since beginning the program, providing a great deal of comedic relief. CBS affiliate KPIX can be found on channel 5 in the Bay Area. Evening Magazine airs Monday through Friday from 7-7:30pm, with the Get Fit With Malou segment featured every Wednesday.
