Committed to service, Rush Hour Rotary is hosting its third annual Mardi Gras Gala & Benefit at the Columbia Tower Club to benefit First Place School to support homeless children and their families.

With a commitment to service to the community, Rush Hour Rotary is dedicated to restoring a positive community celebration for Seattle with a safe, fun Mardi Gras Gala. The Gala is a benefit for Seattles First Place School and its efforts to end homelessness one family at a time

(PRWEB) January 2, 2004 --With a commitment to establishing a safe, fun Mardi Gras event for Seattle, Rush Hour Rotary is hosting its third annual Mardi Gras Gala & Charity Benefit at 6 p.m., Sunday, February 22, at the Columbia Tower Club, which also is a sponsor of the event.

An estimated 500 people are expected to attend the Gala, benefiting Seattles First Place School, which helps children and families at risk or in transition due to homelessness, domestic violence, drug and alcohol dependency, and other crises.

Rush Hour Rotary is dedicated to restoring a positive community celebration for Seattle with a safe, fun Mardi Gras Gala - combining fun with fundraising, specifically for Seattles First Place School and its efforts to end homelessness one family at a time; Rush Hour Rotary is continuing its mission to provide service to the community.

The Mardi Gras Gala 2004 will feature food and festivities in the tradition of New Orleans-style Mardi Gras celebrations, entertainment by Seattle legendary Jazz artist Michael Powers, dancing, coronation of a king and queen, and more. The formal event encourages participants to wear Mardi Gras-style costumes and masks. Other activities include a silent auction, tarot reading, raffle items and Mardi Gras-themed diversions. Mardi Gras Gala 2004 has a goal of raising a minimum of $15,000 for First Place Schools participating children and families.

Rotary is known throughout the world for its commitment to community service. The members of Rush Hour Rotary have a long-term goal of making Mardi Gras everyones Seattle mid-winter festival, with widespread support and fundraising by service, arts and community organizations throughout the region.

The Columbia Tower Club is on floors 75 and 76 of the Bank of America Tower, 701 Fifth Avenue, in downtown Seattle.
