(PRWEB) January 3, 2004 --Garth Adam, from 30 Odd Foot of Grunts, formed ETHER in 2002. The first album Great Ocean Road was released independently in October 2002 and was followed up by a short tour through the US (November 2002).
The new album Dance on Friday Night is being released on 15 December 2003 through www.automaticdistribution.com (online and retail) and the band plan to play gigs early in 2004.
The new album is a further development of the acoustic rock/pop sound in the style of acts like Crowded House and Travis.
The band has performed at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York, Larry Groces Mountain Stage" in West Virginia, The Roxy in Los Angeles, as well as club dates in Charleston, Portland and Austin.
The band had tracks placed on three compilation CDs released in the US: The Link" on CMJ Certain Damage Vol 125 (2 September 2002), Heart Stops" on CMJ Certain Damage Vol 126 (30 October 2002) and The Link" on New Music Monthlys companion CD (September 2002). These compilation albums also included tracks from Ryan Adams, Aimee Mann, Coldplay, Queens of the Stone Age and Johnny Cash.
Great Ocean Road received extensive airplay on the American College Radio Network and charted on the Barefoot Rock Top 50 Indie Albums" charts for a total of 11 weeks reaching number 21. The only other Australian artists to chart in that time period were Alex Lloyd and The Church.
