The Campbell Illinois Outdoor Whitetail Challenge The Campbell Illinois Outdoor Hunting Show

This is the latest Press Release on the results for the Campbell Illinois Whitetail Challenge on the Campbell Illinois Outdoor Hunting Show.

(PRWEB) January 4, 2004 --Virginia cameraman Bill Newman, filming with a JVC DV CAM, and his Illinois hunting partner Mike Sell, using a TC .50 Caliber Encore Muzzleloader, held the lead from start to finish to win a firearm-qualifying round on the Campbell Whitetail Circuit recently completed in Southern Illinois. The event, hosted by Campbell Illinois Whitetails, featured twelve teams matching their skills in filming hunts, with Newman and Sell taking the Challenge Title with 408 points. Chris Crow, Illinois, with a Cannon XL1S Camera and Virginia teammate, Mike Bowie, hunting with a Kahnke Custom Arms .50 Cal. Muzzleloader, placed second with 397 points.

Arriving fresh from his visit with President Bush at the White House to witness the event and hunt with Campbell Illinois Whitetails was NWTF (National Wild Turkey Foundation) CEO Rob Keck. Also in attendance and hunting was NL All-Star Pitcher Mike Williams of the Philadelphia Phillies.

Points for the competition are awarded based on required increments of hunt video. Both teams advance to the 2004 Championship Round of the Campbell Whitetail Circuit, a series of hunting/filming challenges. The way we set up to film our hunt was the difference," explained Newman. Most teams chose to set up in the timber, but we hunted a platform stand overlooking a CRP field. This gave us a chance to see and film deer long before they got into hunting range." Sell agreed, We had a great setup and Bill won it for us with his camera work. I had the easy part, all I did was hunt." Teammates Jeff Shilling and Greg Neumann from Pennsylvania finished 3rd with 386 points and the 2003 Championship team of Matt Broncatello and John Degraw both of New Jersey placed 4th with a 374 score.

Newman, whose filming credits include TNN, OLN, The Outdoor Channel, Fox Sports Net and others was named Outdoor Cameraman of the Year" for 2003 by the Campbell Whitetail Circuit, with Broncatello named as Rookie Cameraman of the Year".

Scheduled for early in January 2004, is a Celebrity Whitetail Challenge, that matches some of the best known hunting Celebrities and their selected cameramen competing for fun and charity. Commencing in April 2004, teams will be filming wild turkey hunts for the Qualifying and Championship Rounds of the Campbell Turkey Circuit.

The Firearm Qualifying Challenge, Celebrity Challenge, and Turkey Circuit Rounds
