Searching for the Perfect Peace Within Ones Soul

New Book takes Artful Approach to Helping people on Their Spiritual Journeys

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (PRWEB) January 6, 2004 --Life is constant revision. As mankind grows, their souls and mind become more enriched. Their experiences bring them closer to the state of true wisdom. This wisdom, hopefully leads to a better peace. God and religion stand as a guidepost along this journey, a facet highlighted in the new book, The Burning Heart (now available through 1stbooks), by Richard L. Toney.
The Burning Heart touches the essence of the emotional spectrum. Toney details the journey into the true service of the ministry through a series of poems and essays. At its heart is developing of characteristics necessary for ones spiritual development and growth. The book introduces several facets of Christian life, from understanding ones emotions and realizing weaknesses to deepening ones walk of faith and seeing the power within.

While many books present themselves to be spiritual self-help guides, The Burning Heart develops an artful insight into the relationship between God and man." His collection contains insights into a godly life for the Christian and non-Christian, alike. He takes the reader on a journey of one mans healing and expounds his own personal development. The chapters move fluidly from one theme to the next allowing readers to gain deeper understanding and a sense of His purpose for them . Toney hopes readers can free their minds of preconceived notions and come to understand the power of their dreams, and conquer their fears.

(The Burning Heart) intends to open ones eyes into the true joy of a relationship with God. Without the pretense of instructing ones life, it demonstrates through one man, the struggles of walking in faith. It is intended as an aid to all who think they are alone and hopeless in the travails of life," Toney states.

Born and raised in Birmingham, Ala., during the tumultuous time after the civil rights movement of the 1960s, Toney was called into ministry early in life, but chose to walk a different path. Trained as a chef, he has traveled extensively working aboard various ships and working in many resorts. Visiting exotic locations and experiencing different cultures shaped his belief that all people of the world are basically the same.

(W)e all taste the same bitter feelings of struggle...(W)e all see the same pains of strife in our labors, and rather than contending in differences we can overcome together by walking in the knowledge of one perfect peace," Toney says.

The Burning Heart is his first in a series of books on bonding together as humankind.
