The Church of Saint Mary the Virgin, Times Square, announces Frederick Swann will perform this years Annual Organ Recital in commemoration of the 1932 91-rank Aeolian-Skinner organs anniversary.

Saturday, January 17, at 7:00 PM, organist Frederick Swann will perform the anniversary recital, featuring works of DeGrigny, Buxtehude, Franck, Karg-Elert, Vierne, Parry, Bales and Sowerby. Swann, one of the most celebrated organ recitalists of our time, is the former organist and director of music of the Riverside Church, New York; he is also organist emeritus of the Crystal Cathedral, Garden Grove, California. Mr. Swann currently serves as national president of the American Guild of Organists.

(PRWEB) January 6, 2004 --The 1932 91-rank Aeolian-Skinner organ, designed by G. Donald Harrison, is regarded as one of the finest of its type in the world. It is widely considered the forerunner of the American Classic" school of organ building, and is also noted for its French tonal colors. This musical event is not to be missed.
