DIAMOND BAR, CA (PRWEB) January 8, 2004 --DACOR®, a leader in high-end kitchen appliance design, manufacturing and distribution, today announces the production and availability of the new
Preference® 36" All-Gas Cooktop (PGM365). The PGM365 features two brand-new SimmerSear burners that range from 18,000 to 500 BTUs and 12,500 to 400 BTUs, respectively. The ultra low-end burners are a first for the company. With breakthrough design, safety and performance, the PGM365 continues the companys philosophy to produce upscale, performance driven kitchen appliances.

The commanding SimmerSear burners offer unparalleled versatility, precision control and at 18,000 BTUs, the PGM365 is one of the most powerful cooktops on the market today. From boiling lobsters at a rapid pace to simmering slow-cook soups and stews, chef enthusiasts now have multiple cooking options with just one turn of the knob. The unique design of the simmer burner is concealed under the larger burner cap, which helps distribute heat more evenly across the cooking surface and avoids unwanted hot spots. The cooktop also features three mid-range burners that provide ample power for sautéed garden vegetables or pasta cooked al dente.

The cooktop offers tremendous flexibility with its extra-wide continuous grate platform, which can accommodate over-sized sauté pans and cumbersome stockpots. It can also easily fit five standard-sized pots or pans side by side. The SimmerSear burners sit front and center for easy access and safer cooking, while the sealed burners and continuous spill basin make for easy cleanup.

Another DACOR first, the PGM365 introduces an innovative new illuminated blue ON" indicator lights on all five burner control knobs, which will alert users to the fact that the cooktop is hot and in use. The two SimmerSear burners have an additional light that appears when using the simmer setting for further accuracy and safety control. Brass valves maintain precise flame level while the DACOR Perma-Flame feature automatically re-ignites the gas flame when accidentally extinguished.

The new PGM365 is DACOR at its innovative best," said Larry Lamkins, assistant vice president of marketing for DACOR. With new safety, design and performance features, our new cooktop is setting a new standard of excellence in this appliance industry segment."

Available in stainless steel, black and artic white, the PGM365 is perfect for pairing up with one of DACORS low profile raised vents, single oven, or new 36" wide Epicure warming oven. Stainless models feature the unique Bead-Blasted spill basin for easier clean up and enhanced appearance.

Founded in 1965, DACOR has introduced many industry firsts including the only 30" wide dishwasher for the home and an outdoor grill with built in halogen lights. Based in Diamond Bar, Calif., DACOR maintains designer showrooms at corporate headquarters plus the following locations: Atlanta, Chicago, Baltimore, and San Francisco.
