LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) January 6, 2004 -- Collegiate student athletes from top colleges such as Cal Berkeley, Stanford, Columbia, Rice, and others across the nation are utilizing a new service to locate job and internship opportunities. GoingProfessional.com is a unique on-line free service, which markets the coveted skills and attributes of student athletes to prospective employers. These skills and attributes include discipline, leadership, teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to succeed. GoingProfessional.com offers a dynamic database, which allows employers the ability to search for their ideal candidate. The site can be accessed via http://www.goingprofessional.com.
GoingProfessional.com was founded by two former student athletes, Brandon DiTullio,CPA, UCLA Golf, 2000, and Auvarin Phor,CPA, UCSB Mens Volleyball, 1999. Co-founder Auvarin Phor stated, Since our collegiate careers, both Brandon and I have found that the skills we acquired as student athletes have proven extremely valuable in the corporate arena. While participating in collegiate athletics, the combination of my sport and academic commitments consumed the majority of my time. As I was achieving my goals as a student and an athlete, I did not have sufficient time to attend the recruiting and job networking events that I would have attended otherwise. Our goal with this web site is to efficiently provide a clear line of communication between prospective employers and student athletes".
There are more than 300,000 student athletes participating in collegiate athletics who intend on going professional in something other than their sport. Our intent is to provide a service which benefits these student athletes", said Brandon DiTullio, Co-founder, GoingProfessional.com.
