Ripple Effects Interactive Helps WQED Multimedia Launch Web Site For "The War That Made America" Project

WQED Multimedia recently enlisted the interactive marketing expertise of Ripple Effects Interactive, one of the nations top agencies, to launch a Web site for its upcoming The War That Made America television series. The site is the first of two that will be created for the extensive project aimed at commemorating the 250th anniversary of the French and Indian War.

PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) January 8, 2004 --WQED Multimedia recently enlisted the interactive marketing expertise of Ripple Effects Interactive, one of the nations top agencies, to launch a Web site for its upcoming The War That Made America television series. The site is the first of two that will be created for the extensive project aimed at commemorating the 250th anniversary of the French and Indian War.

The initial Web site serves as a central location to disseminate information about The War That Made America project, creating an interactive community by establishing a centralized and interconnected online community for French and Indian War enthusiasts, historians, scholars, and re-enactors. Visitors can view a photo gallery of stills from the series test filming, download banners and sign up to join an email list to receive e-newsletters about the project.

The War That Made America, which is tentatively scheduled to air as a four-hour program on public television stations across the country in 2005, is the first major television series ever made about the French and Indian War. The series will use the best contemporary historical scholarship and draw on a diverse cross-section of humanities to provide new insights.

Another Web site will launch in 2004 to generate buzz and excitement for the television series. This second Web site will be an online companion to the film series and offer interactive features and innovative middle and high school lesson plans.
