Local Latin radio host topples Howard Stern as the #1 morning radio show.

Arbitron ratings show that local Latin boy Luis Jimenez is the new "it boy" in radio, toppling Howard Stern for the new #1 spot in radio morning shows.

(PRWEB) January 8, 2004 --Luis Jimenez, host of the ever popular morning show "El Vacilon De La Manana" on Mega 97.9FM has made history once again, but on a broader level. With a whopping 8% share of listeners, this local Latin boy has toppled The Howard Stern Show as the #1 morning show in New York. This is the first time a Latin station has ever reached these numbers.

After 8 years of having the #1 Latin morning radio show in the Hispanic market, Luis Jimenez, wanting to be a leader in his field, decided to ditch the music and change his format to a morning talk show. His hunch proved to be right; he was once again the most beloved radio host in the Latin market. But this wasn't enough for him

Luis Jimenez released 3 comedy albums in the past two years. They include "Tortilla Party" (nominated for a Billboard Latin Award), "Vacilon 69" and "Chant For Neta" (released 11/20/03).

Three albums later and a #1 spot in the overall general market is no small feat for a local Latin boy from Puerto Rico.
