Design for Yield Interface to Slam IC Layout Editor.

Stabie-Soft and Predictions Software today announced that they have completed an interface between the Slam Layout Editor and the critical area extraction software PEYE-CAA.

(PRWEB) January 9, 2004 --The new Slam/PEYE-CAA interface gives designers an opportunity to optimize their designs for high yield within a standard layout environment. Within the Slam Editor, a cell designer can simply select a region of interest to interactively generate both a yield metric and critical area maps of their design. The critical area maps displayed by the Slam Editor highlight those parts of the layout where defects are most likely to cause faults. The maps also give graphical feedback to the designer to help them understand where layout changes can be made and why these changes have improved the design yield metric.

Gerard Allan of Predictions Software said "This new interface to the Slam Editor will allow designers of standard and custom cells easy access to the information they need to optimize their cell designs for high yield. Having design for yield in at the library cell level leverages the yield of every chip that uses the library.".
