Independent Musician Releases "Revolutionary" CD
Sassure, an independent songwriter/musician from the Boston area, has released a new CD, entitled LINEAR LOVE, whose songs follow a revolutionary new "linear" song model. Short and with a minimum of repetition, each composition progresses through distinct movements, developing and always morphing. A concept album that also pays tribute to the exploding Digital Music Revolution, LINEAR LOVE features compositions that are part jazz, part rap, part dance, part pop, yet cannot be categorized under any one genre.
(PRWEB) January 11, 2004 --Sassure, an independent songwriter/musician from the Boston area, has released a new CD, entitled LINEAR LOVE, whose songs follow a revolutionary new "linear" song model. Short and with a minimum of repetition, each composition progresses through distinct movements, developing and always morphing, always changing. A concept album that also pays tribute to the exploding Digital Music Revolution, LINEAR LOVE features compositions that are part jazz, part rap, part dance, part pop, yet cannot be categorized under any one genre. "The Digital Music Revolution is only part of the picture," said Sassure. "People are ready for a fresh direction in music, a fresh direction in culture, a fresh direction in metaphysics. LINEAR LOVE addresses all of these concerns." With 14 songs, the album is most notable for what Sassure calls a "metaphysical seduction sequence" of five songs that embody two distinct types of "love" energies, "vanilla love" and "cinnamon love". "Like the novelist D.H. Lawrence, I see love and libido as an integral part of the religious experience," he says. "Your innocent love -- vanilla love -- when charged with desire, undergoes a transformation into a cinnamon love energy, a more potent, almost ecstatic force. When this cinnamon love is celebrated through the ritual of sex, it is again transformed back to a vanilla love state. Both energies affect us emotionally, even spiritually, and can be guided to further productive uses, such as healing."
