RJM Nominees Take Top awards for 2003 DFW IT Executive of the year
Three IT executives nominated by Randall James Monroe took home top honors at the 2003 DFW Society for Information Management (SIM) IT Executive of the Year Banquet and Awards ceremony.
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) January 11, 2004 --Three IT executives nominated by Randall James Monroe took home top honors at the 2003 DFW Society for Information Management (SIM) IT Executive of the Year Banquet and Awards ceremony. RJM placed winners in both categories; Large Firm -- aimed at IT executives who manage at least 100 IT professional; and Mid-cap/Growth Firm -- IT executives who manage less than 100 IT professionals.
RJM nominated Keith Morrow, CIO and VP Information Systems at 7-Eleven, Inc who was selected as the DFW IT Executive of the Year winner in the Large Firm category.
RJM nominated Joe Lacik, VP Information Services at Aviall, Inc. and Steve Williams, Sr. VP & CIO at Mattress Giant who were chosen as DFW IT Executive of the Year co-winners in the Small/Medium Firm category.
Five of the seven finalists were nominees submitted by Randall James Monroe.
Randall Neal, CEO of Randall James Monroe and member of the SIM Career Council, noted that the awards banquet was well attended by many of the 'whos who in technology and business leadership in the DFW area. This event provides special recognition for those 'unsung heroes who have quietly gone about strengthening the competitive position of their companys product or service through the creative use of technology."
Neal went on to say the criterion used in the evaluation process was based on the IT leaders overall ability to effectively elevate information technology to a proactive part of the companys strategy. This might include increasing the efficiency of their organization by improving the companys capacity to manage quality or significantly transform the way their organization conducts business through the use of technology." Special recognition goes to Dr. Jack Becker who handled a key part of the evaluation process. Dr. Becker was the Judging Process Coordinator and is in the Business Computer Information Systems Department at the University of North Texas and Communications & PR Chair, SIM -- DFW Chapter.
SIM, an international organization established in 1968, is a premier network for IT leaders comprised of nearly 3000 members that include CIOs, senior IT executives, prominent academicians and consultants.
