The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute To Launch New Website With January 12 Media Conference Call
Web Site Project Brings Civil Rights History to the World
The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute (BCRI) in partnership with BellSouth Corporation today announced a media conference call on January 19, 2004 to inform media of BCRIs newly designed Web site project. The Web site, www.bcri.org, features the BCRI oral history project, a collection of videotaped interviews with participants in the civil rights movement of the 1960s such as Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth, who will also participate in the call. The site will not only contain information about the American Civil Rights Movement, but also about current international human rights issues.
BIRMINGHAM, AL (PRWEB) January 12, 2004 --The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute (BCRI) in partnership with BellSouth Corporation today announced a media conference call on January 19, 2004 to inform media of BCRIs newly designed Web site project. The interactive site will include archival information for research, a teaching curriculum and will allow worldwide accessibility to the Institutes educational resources. The media conference call will begin at 1:00 p.m., Central Time, on January 19; the dial-in number and other instructions for participating in the conference call are provided below.
Experts participating in the call will be prominent Civil Rights Activist and BCRI Lifetime Board Member, Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth; Dr. Lawrence Pijeaux, Jr., BCRI Executive Director; Mr. Marion Combs, BCRI Director of Development; Mr. Wayne Coleman, BCRI Head of Archives who has managed the Web site project for the institute from start to completion; and Mr. Thomas Hamby, President of BellSouth Alabama.
