Local writer, thought dead, appears in bizarre anthology
(PRWEB) January 12, 2004 --Amid a swirling whirlwind of underground apathy and minor controversy, and apparent misinformation, a story by local writer Frank J. Marcopolos, appears in an anthology, The Urban Bizarre, published by Prime Books on Sunday.
Marcopolos, 31, is a long-time resident of the Marine Park area of Brooklyn, NY.
The anthology, edited by Bram-Stoker-Award nominee Nick Mamatas, brings together tales of the city from the best new science fiction writers, pornographers, and zinesters -- stories too weird, too dark, and just plain too bizarre to be published elsewhere. I thought he was dead?" said writer Jeff Somers, who also appears in the anthology, when reached at his Jersey City compound for comment. I killed that sum-bitch," said Chicago writer (Chicago Reader Weekly Newspaper) and former mud-wrestler Ann Sterzinger, who also appears in the anthology. Didnt I?" Editor Nick Mamatas could not be reached for comment.
It was widely believed Mamatas would pull the Marcopolos story from the collection if Marcopolos were in fact dead.
Despite the appearance of the story, Marcopolos, who also could not be reached for comment, has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, adding further credence to the rumor advocating his untimely demise.
