Parrot Intelligence Research Group Discovers Parrots Talking In Conversational Language
The Budgie Research Group has now established that over 12 parakeets within their group are using sophisticated conversational language
(PRWEB) January 13, 2004 --A talking parakeet website has spawned a Budgie Research Group that is teaching their parakeets to speak in conversational language. The group submits recordings, analyzes them, and post the results on their website. They are finding that a large percentage of parakeets in their group are actually talking about and understanding concepts that were only thought to be previously understood by humans. The trick is to learn the unique parakeet accent and speech patterns. The founder of the group, Ryan Reynolds, says this is the most significant discovery in the animal intelligence field of the century.
On the main site http://www.parrotresearch.com you can hear recordings of a parakeet named Victor who had a vocabulary of over 800 words and understood their meanings as well. On the sister site http://www.budgieresearch.com you can hear numerous recordings of the other parrots from the group that are speaking in context as well. The group is finding that the parrots are so intelligent they can discuss almost any topic and is the first time in history people are actually finding out how animals can really think like humans.
