San Cristobal International Secures $10 Million Credit Facility

San Cristobal International (SCI), one of the leading innovators of Emerging Growth Real Estate (EGRE) in Panama, has secured, subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions, a commitment for a private credit facility of $10 million for the expansion of its successful strategy for the development of the Billion-Dollar" Caribbean coastline of Panama.

(PRWEB) January 14, 2004 --SCI states that the funding will be used for the acquisition of large tracts of beachfront property for low-density eco-developments, reforestation initiatives, private-membership resort developments and commercial property acquisition. This initial round of funding is expected to be followed by larger institutional funding that will be used to further the aforementioned developments. SCIs 2004 goal is to create $25 million in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Bocas del Toro, which is one of Panamas top tourist destinations.

In 18 months, SCI has assembled a world-class sales and marketing team and has established a first-class business operation that rivals those who have operated in the same market for over a decade. SCI has created over 60 jobs and has opened two offices in Panama, has established two international offices and created a broker network of over 400 independent agents in 13 countries. Founder Tom McMurrain attributes this success to being innovative, being at the right place at the right time and working harder and smarter than anyone in SCIs marketplace. We have bitten off more than we can chew and we are chewing it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week," states McMurrain. SCI intends to create thousands of jobs in Panama and to bring over $100 million in foreign direct and indirect investment, which Panama needs right now."

SCIs website has recently been ranked number one in Panama and number three in Central America for total Internet traffic by Alexa.com, a service of Amazon.com. This achievement has exposed SCIs EGRE sales program and Tropical Working Farm program to clients from over 16 different countries, has created over $6 million in FDI and over $15 million in indirect investment for the Republic of Panama, as well as increasing Panamas onsite" tourist traffic.

With technology as its cornerstone, SCI is utilizing multi-media, online investor guides and proprietary online marketing techniques that have created a database of over 42,000 potential investors for Panamas escalating Caribbean real estate market. The SCI website is currently ranked 32,000 in world Internet traffic. This combined with the expansion of Panamas international awareness strategy and the fact that 600 million people were exposed to Panama through this years Miss Universe pageant, our worldwide ranking and Internet dominance in Central America can only continue to increase," states Dennis Smith, a Director of SCI.

The success has not come easily, according to McMurrain. Whether it was a result of competitive jealousy or small-town politics, we have been falsely accused in the media of being fugitives from justice and operating a shell company involved in a major Panamanian political scandal."

We have had to defend our company in the mainstream media and take legal action against the individuals making false accusations. But, we nevertheless continue to be the dominant player in our field, expand, attract the best strategic partners and promote Panama in the light that it deserves," says Barry Miller, General Counsel of SCI. As a result of the scandal, SCI was investigated by three of Panamas top Governmental Agencies and they found no wrongdoing."

As it moves into year 2004, SCI has created strategic alliances that are the basis for future projects and additional capital resources. By means of meetings with the World Bank, an advertising arrangement with FDI Magazine and a working relationship with Greenberg Traurig, one of the largest Latin American-focused law firms in the United States, SCI has become extremely well positioned to be the leader in Caribbean real estate development and promotion in Panama.

SCI will be launching a new non-profit consulting division as part of its internationally-recognized Investment Promotion Agency strategy. This firm will focus on promoting Panamas Caribbean Gold Coastline to the rest of the IPA community through bank-sponsored functions and by providing low-cost consulting to individuals, corporations and institutions looking to invest in Panamas Caribbean coast.
