Celebrations will continue through Sunday, Feb. 1st with New Year menu items, Traditional Chinese Hot Pots, specialty celebration cocktails, and Chinese Dragon Dancing. Valley of the Monkey" Wine & Dinner Tasting -- Tuesday, Jan. 20th -- 7:30 p.m.
Peking Toms Chinese New Year celebration commences with a three-course wine dinner on Tuesday, Jan. 20th. The evening begins at 7:30 p.m. with an hors doeuvres and wine reception, complemented by a discussion of the Affentaler Valley of the Monkey" wine and Chinese New Year traditions. Peking Toms is proud to be the exclusive Boston distributor during this holiday celebration for Valley of the Monkey Wine", from Germanys famous Black Forest region. The wines include a Pinot Noir, renowned for its velvety bouquet and sparkling ruby red color, and a Riesling, a delicate and elegant wine. Dining resumes at 8:00 p.m., with sit down service of Peking Picks -- a combination of Peking Toms award-winning dishes and specially created New Year menu items -- complemented by Valley of the Monkey" wines. Specialty desserts and Chinese Lion Head dancing round out the evening. The cost of the tasting reflects the Chinese calendar year, $47.02. Peking Toms continues its celebrations with several special menu additions available only during the two weeks of Chinese New Year. Regular menu items will also be available.
~ Traditional Chinese Hot Pot -- Chinese New Year is not a celebration without a traditional Hot Pot" -- a festive and dynamic dining experience widespread throughout China. Similar to fondue, the Peking Tom Hot Pot is a large pot of broth placed in the center of the table for communal cooking and eating, which guests enjoy by submerging meat or vegetables into the boiling broth to cook.
~ New Year Menu Features -- Guests can feast on traditional Chinese New Year dishes including long-life noodles, steamed dumplings, golden coin turnovers, whole crispy fish, and more.

Chinese Lion Head Dancing - Tuesday, Jan. 20th 9:00 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 23rd 8:00 p.m.
Peking Toms will feature a traditional Chinese Lion Head Dance performed by the Chinese Freemason Athletic Club on Tuesday, Jan. 20th at 9:00 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 23 at 8:00 p.m. On both nights, a serpentine-like Chinese lion will dance, jump and wind its way through the dining room and bar to the beat of pounding drums, bright colors and lively sounds of this authentic Chinese dance for luck.
