PTGTV’s “Today’s Family” to Feature Special Program on Weight Loss

With obesity one of the primary health problems of modern-day Americans, PTGTV will air a special feature on Weight Loss Options and their effectiveness.

Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWEB) January 15, 2004 -- It’s no secret that weight gain and all the ensuing health problems it entails has become the number one concern of most Americans.

But whether or not they do something about it—and whether that something is effective—is the concern today not only of the general population, but also of the many professionals who consider this a major problem for the country: medical personnel, psychologists (as per Dr. Phil’s new book, approaching weight loss as a mindset), heart specialists, politicians, pharmaceutical firms, food and beverage companies, restaurants, and the entire weight loss industry, just to mention a few.
Today’s Family, a production of PTGTV, a leading producer of educational programming for the modern market, recognizes the urgency of this subject, and will produce a special show on Weight Loss Options. The show will air in many major markets across the U.S.

The show will feature different approaches to dealing with the problems of weight loss, and will examine the outstanding characteristics of each. What works, and for whom, and why? Various aspects of weight loss will be considered for each program featured, and these questions and more will be answered:
--What does the weight-loss program consist of? What are the staff qualifications? Does the product/program carry any risks? How much does the program/product cost? What results do participants typically have?
With nearly 40 million Americans today considered obese, and at least 300,000 dying annually from obesity-related diseases, weight loss is no longer a choice—it is an imperative for many. Those more than 100 pounds overweight are even turning to surgery, such as stomach stapling, to solve their problem and so that they can make a “fresh start.” Everyone finds additional reasons in the 21st century to eat more of the wrong foods and to exercise less—the deadly combination that is adding on the pounds, even on this generation of children and pets! We have this, despite having more gyms, spas, weight loss programs, special foods and diets, literature, etc., than ever before in history! So obviously this is a topic of prime foremost importance to all Americans and those they love.

PTGTV and Today's Family welcome the newest member to its Advisory Board for 2003-2004: The American Dietetic Association. The show presents a fast-paced contemporary format showcasing issues of relevance to families, with information on new products, trends and ideas. It is aired on local and national television networks, and produced by PTGTV.
