Franchising success secrets revealed. Author pens Franchising: Getting it right"
Nearly half of all retail dollars are spent in franchised establishments. "Franchising: Getting it Right" shows how to do it right.
Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) January 15, 2004 --Franchised businesses account for only 4 percent of all business, yet nearly half of the retail dollars spent pass through a franchised establishment.
But like any business, success is not guaranteed. Colorado resident Rick Gretz, a 30-year veteran of franchising as both franchisee and franchisor, has written Franchising: getting it right" to describe the critical lessons in franchise development. Gretz covers issues such as finding appropriate franchisees, attention to marketing details and not letting the technical aspects get in the way of managing.
Any franchisor or franchisee following these ideas cant lose. Every business leader can profit from Ricks principles of success in building a successful franchise system," says Robert Pirtle, International Expansion Consultants.
Gretz began his franchising career in Joliet, Illinois, when he became the second franchisee of Liqui-Green Lawn Care Corporation in 1972. In 1977, he and a partner founded their own lawn care franchising company in Naperville, Ill. Over the next nine years, they established 100 franchises in 18 states. He followed that with the founding of The Signery Corporation in 1986, an instant sign store franchise. In 1991, Success Magazine ranked The Signery Corporation as the fourth best managed franchise company in the United States. He and his wife currently run Marick Services, Inc., a franchise consulting firm in Franktown, Colorado.
