Overall color of the states can easily be changed by changing the color of the background layer. The background of each state can be changed independently from the overall color of the map to highlight store locations, display election results, demographics and so on.

The information that shows up after clicking on a state is loaded into the flash file from an external text file. This text can include HTML tags such as email address, web address, and links to Map Quest or Yahoo Map.

Additional customization can be done to hook the map up with a database containing statistics or a survey. Not nation wide yet?
