Tango Art Event Turns Up The Heat - With a Latin Beat.

Mondo d Arte, new virtual gallery in town, has teamed up with Siempre Tango, Ottawa/Gatineaus Tango specialty dance studio, promising a warm starter for your oh-so-cool Saturday night. Theyre holding a Milonga" - thats Spanish for Tango Party" -- on Saturday, Jan 24th from 5 till 9, complete with Tango (and other hot themes) art show and sale, and Tango demonstrations by the experts! Your climb to their upstairs studio at 111A Rideau St. will get your heart in gear for a passionate display of art and dance -- just in time for that other celebration of love next month!

Ottawa, Canada (PRWEB) January 16, 2004 --The Tangos origins go back to the 19th century, somewhere around the 1870s, when it was born and developed in the working class suburbs outside the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Today, Tango is a world in itself -- sensual, poignant, and often symbolizing Latin culture -- we see it represented in music, dance, song, poetry and art. It is an extraordinary phenomenon of customs, celebrated around the world.

In honour of the season, Eleonora Dufault and Janet Wilkinson of Mondo d Arte have assembled an intriguing collection of monotypes, watercolours, acrylics, and mixed media from four recognized Argentine artists: Ida Olijavetsky, Juan Manuel Sanchez, Nora Patrich and Violeta Borisonik.

Tango demonstrations will be danced by Brigitte and Francis Caron, owners and instructors at Siempre Tango. Theyve extended a warm welcome to visitors, and, say the Carons, Those attending the event, who also like to Tango, are invited to remain and dance after 9 pm."

So whether you love the dance, the art, the people or the just the pulse of all things Latin, the event promises an unusual escape from the cold.
