Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 17, 2004 --Mystic Vibes TV (CAN-TV Channel 19) features interviews this Sunday January, 18th 2004 at 9pm (CST) with three of reggae musics great ambassadors; Beres Hammond, Wailing Souls and Marcia Griffiths. The program will be repeated on Monday January 19th at 4pm (CST) and will be aired on Chicago Access Network (CAN TV) Channel 19. On-Air personalities include Chicago socialite, Ms. Valerie Hill and DJ Mike Beal.
Executive producer for Mystic Vibes TV, Zezel McKenzie is proud to present these icons; Beres Hammond (interviewed by DJ Mike Beal) is one of the most prolific artists to come out of Jamaica. Born Beresford Hammond in St. Mary, Jamaica in 1955, Hammond began singing ska and reggae when he was young. He was influenced profoundly by the soulful rock-steady sounds of Alton Ellis as well as American R&B stars like Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. Hammonds hits include Putting Up Resistance", Have a Nice Weekend", Tempted to Touch", Love Affair", Full Attention", In Control", and Love From a Distance".
The Wailing Souls comprise of Lloyd Bread" McDonald and Winston Pipe" Matthews, they are noted among the elite group of reggae roots and culture artists. Renowned from California, USA to Japan, the band came to the fore with a cover version of Paul Simon's Mother and Child Reunion," which was released in the U.S. in 1972. Their other hits include,Row Fisherman Row", Back Out With It", and Mr. Fire Coal Man".
Marcia Griffiths (Order of Distinction) is undoubtedly amongst royalty within the reggae fraternity. Her career spans well over 30 years, she has hit dizzy heights with her collaborations with Bob Andy, in duo as Bob and Marcia (Young, Gifted & Black, Pied Piper) as a member of the I-Threes with Bob Marley and the Wailers and subsequently as a soloist, when she hit the Billboard chart with Electric Boogie" and created a world-wide dance trend, the Electric Slide. Marcias other hits include: Band of Gold, I Just Dont Want to Be Lonely, Sweet Bitter Love and Put a Little Love In Your Heart to name a few.
